PRC Welcomes a New Coordinator!
We are pleased to announce the new coordinator of Presbyterians for Restoring Creation: Julie Lehman! Welcome Julie! Julie has been a lay leader and teacher in the Presbyterian Church for over twenty years. Having studied environmental theology, ethics, and education in seminary, she has helped form earth teams and led environmental education and workshops at a variety of churches. Currently she is the part-time Director of Church Relations at Warren Wilson College, a leading school in higher education sustainability. Julie has also written articles on environmental stewardship for various Presbyterian publications. She designed and hosted an eco-sermon challenge to the clergy of the PCUSA in 2006. She lives in Asheville, NC.

Fall 2009 Regional Event
September 19, Holy Ground: Landscape of the Sacred. 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Trout Lake School, 2310 Highway 141,Trout Lake, WA. This annual Creation Care Fellowship Gathering is sponsored by the Eco-Justice Team of the Presbytery of the Cascades and Trout Lake Presbyterian Church. Our keynoter is Jane Kirkpatrick, a writer, speaker, teacher and mental health professional who lives on a farm in. Her award-winning essays, articles, and humor have appeared in over fifty publications. Workshops will focus on sustainable living in addition to a journaling workshop with Jane Kirkpatrick. Come to Trout Lake on Friday night to camp out or stay at a nearby hotel so that you will have more time to enjoy the natural beauty and recreational opportunities of the area. There will be several free tent campsites at Trout Lake Presbyterian. A Taize service for the healing of creation will be held at 6:45 p.m. on Friday at the church. Registration includes a locally-grown lunch and is $15, or $10 for seniors and students. To register, call Dawn at 1-800-926-3223

2009 Eco-Stewards Program: Calling Young Adults
Applications are being sought for the Eco-Stewards program of the Presbyterian Conservation Corps (PCC), a Christian community responding to God's call through applied eco-stewardship. Applicants from ages 18-24 years old should demonstrate interest in church, camp, and environmental concerns. For the application, go to: http://www.presbyterianconservationcorps.org/2009.html.
